Have you ever had a song stuck in your head? Well, this is the song that is currently embedded in mine and Carson's. We sang it in the car all the way from Hamilton to Goldthwaite this afternoon! Carson was a little miffed, though, that I wasn't able to clap in the appropriate places as I navigated the rural roads between the two towns. We learned this song at the First Baptist Church's music camp this week. Oodles of kiddos are attending and learning the musical, It's Cool in The Furnace, and they will be performing it this Friday at 5:30.
Purple Pandas, Green Giraffes, Orange Orangutans, Blue Bobcats, Yellow Yaks, and Red Rhinos fill the church. Individual chants can be heard from these teams throughout the day, as they compete for the highly desired "spirit stick" that is awarded every afternoon. "Ooh Aah Orangutan!" is another little tune currently on repeat in my head.
The camp has been amazing to witness this week and I have enjoyed taking snapshots of it all. The scene is very busy, and the number of people teaching songs, doing crafts, leading games, and handing out drinks and snacks is absolutely incredible. The FBC has a wonderful church family, and how much they love their campers is extremely evident.
Here are a few of the snapshots
My camera loves these two! They are so cute together....constantly holding hands and hugging. Every time I see them, I can't help but say "Aaaaaw", and inevitably the shutter on my camera clicks.
John Woods during a mass rehearsal. I am convinced he is the Pied Piper of children. It is incredible the way he keeps all the little ones attention and teaches them so much!
Now, this little guy has some serious moves. I had so much fun watching him do his own little dance!
