Trying to remember my sessions that I missed during my blogging hiatus, I immediately thought of Toni & Brodi! These photos just make me smile! It was an easy going session just letting the kids do what they like to do. The bandana and baby tattoo were a last minute idea....seriously, about 30 minutes before the session I called to see if they would want to try it out! I'm glad they did!

Remember me?
Oh, it's been a looooooong time. In the beginning of my photography career, my blog was such an important part of my business. I used it to share recent sessions and what was happening in my life. Then, along came facebook...and I guess I got a little lazy! I made a photography page and used it to share recent sessions or weddings. I have had a few clients tell me how they miss my blog and keep checking for new posts. I was thinking It hasn't been that long since I blogged!!! Then I checked........GEEZE LOUISE....it has been a whole year! So, with a little blog guilt and humiliation, I have decided to fire up the ol' blog again! To catch you up on what I have been up to the past year, below are a few bridal shots of Jaclyn from last year!

Leach Family
These photos make me smile. It had been years since, Patricia and her parents had family pictures made. Patricia and I met her parents out at their farm, and I immediately fell in love with her dad. He was all spiffed up for his close-up, but you could tell he wasn't real excited about the whole thing. But he did it...with the cutest grin and a few wisecracks at his daughter's expense. As he laughed about their dog not sitting still or grimaced when I asked him to hold his wife's hand, he kept grinning. He put up with me asking him to sit here, stand there, or look this way...all for his daughter, because he knew these photos were important to her. He would voice his objections to the whole session with a twinkle in his eye, that showed just how much he loves Patricia.
Koether
Ok..so one of my resolutions for the New Year is to stop neglecting my blog. Since January is almost over, you can see how well I am doing on the whole resolution thing. But hey- better late than never! There is just not enough time for me to go back and catch up with my past sessions, so I am just going to start over with a session I had this past Saturday with the Koether family. Living in Texas, you never know what the weather is going to do, so to say I was a little worried about Mother Nature cooperating with me on an outdoor session is an understatement. The days leading up to the session were less than ideal, so when the weather turned out to be perfect I was ecstatic. Keslie had done some great scouting and found the perfect place for Kyler's one year photos. Kyler is such an easy going little guy, and was such a joy to work with! He has beautiful eyes, and was sporting the cutest little pair of cowboy boots I had ever seen!

Imagine
I want you to use your imagination. Use the same imagination you had when you were a kid and you could visualize The Big Bad Wolf huffing and puffing, you could feel the excitement when the glass slipper fit, and you could dream of the ocean and actually hear the waves and feel the sand beneath your feet. That is the imagination you need to use right now.
I want you to imagine sitting in a doctor's office....hearing statistics....hearing words like blood count... cancer... Leukemia....chemotherapy. Can you imagine that? Imagine the devastation you would feel. Imagine the fear that would overcome you. Imagine the shock...the panic...the sadness. Now, I want you to imagine something else. Imagine you are 3 years old. At a time in your life when your biggest battle should be learning to write your name, this is what you are faced with. Can you begin to imagine what it would be like? Or, imagine you are the parents and what they must be going through.
All of these emotions you have imagined, are what the Tarver family is experiencing right now. Haley Tarver was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoid Leukemia, and is currently at Cook Children's Medical Center in Dallas undergoing chemotherapy treatment. I had the pleasure of meeting Haley when I took her school picture at St. John Lutheran Pre School a few days before her diagnosis. She is a precious little girl with a big beautiful smile and such a sweet personality. You can't help but fall in love with her.
First and foremost, I am asking everyone who reads this post to pray for little Haley and her family. The kind of prayer where you get down on your knees and have a conversation with God. Understand that Haley has a long road ahead of her, so please keep her and her family in your prayers for a long time.
A benefit account has been set up for Haley at Extraco Bank in Hamilton to help with medical expenses and for the expense of preparing their home for when Haley is allowed to return in about a month. If you would like to help the Tarver family, you can go by any Extraco Bank branch to make a donation.

Henkes
I had a session with the Henkes kiddos in their back yard. It was one of the fastest and easiest sessions I have ever had. I don't know if it was because we were in their own yard or because Carson had to tag along with me that day, but these were some of the easiest moments I have ever shot. Carson had a blast playing with them all and he even served as my photography assistant a few times!
Kennon & Sutton
I had a session with Sutton and Kennon a while back, and they were as cute as ever. We did almost everything in the session...sidewalk chalk, bubbles, ice cream....and the boys looked adorable in every situation! What a fun session!
